The Times Colonist Christmas Fund has made it to $1 million. Thanks to everyone who donated; you have made a ­difference in your community, and your donation is very much appreciated. At 5 p.m.

The Times Colonist Christmas Fund is getting closer to its target of $1 million. By Tuesday afternoon, the total was at $845,000.

Outside the cramped little Mill Bay building, waiting for a volunteer to pass her a bag of groceries, a young woman rocked from foot to foot, looking a bit self-conscious.

Norman Spector’s generosity has paid off, giving the Times Colonist Christmas Fund an extra push as we head toward our new goal of $1 million by the end of the year.

A special Sunday event in support of the Times Colonist Christmas Fund has been dubbed Santa Claus is Coming to Dodd’s. Host Gordy Dodd is holding the gathering at his furniture store at 715 Finlayson St. from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Like many on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mustard Seed Street Church in Victoria and other food banks across the country had to adapt quickly in the face of a deadly threat.

Your Times Colonist Christmas Fund will help more people than ever before. Let there be no doubt about that, considering that the fund has reached $733,000, surpassing the original $700,000 goal, and is still going strong.

Eat, drink and be merry this holiday season. And take your empties to the Bottle Depot.

The Times Colonist Christmas Fund reached $645,000 on Saturday, closing in on the 2020 goal of $700,000. It got a further boost thanks to donations made during the online Tuba Christmas concert, which was live-streamed on CHEK’s Facebook page.
