You're invited to celebrate World Interfaith Harmony Week this coming Sunday afternoon in Victoria, with a fun and educational program for all ages, combined with a fundraising effort for the Syrian refugee program here in Victoria.
The Family Faith Fair will be held on BC Family Day weekend, Sunday, Feb. 7th, from 1:30 to 3:30, at the Cadboro Bay United Church, 2526 Arbutus Rd. (Map link here.) Included in the program will be:
*An opening First Nations dance
* Colourful exhibits by a variety of religions such as Sikh, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Christianity, Unitarian, Buddhist and Bahá'í
* A brief overview by Dr Sabine Lehr of ICA of some of the current initiatives in assisting Syrian refugees
* Keynote by Dan Vaillancourt on The Soul of Education
* Multicultural dance performances
* Talented storytellers
* World Café, with multicultural treats (for a nominal fee)
* Prize draws for the Scavenger Hunt and Refugee Fundraiser donations
* A closing Dance Circle for all
The printed program will include a "Scavenger Hunt", a series of questions to be answered at the various exhibits. Winners will choose from a variety of prizes such as tickets to the Victoria Butterfly Gardens, IMAX tickets, a restaurant gift certificate and books.
There is no charge.
The event is organized by the Victoria Multifaith Society.
