Christmas Fund

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the 2022 campaign. Some of the cash was spent as soon as it arrived, with cheques going to the Salvation Army, the Mustard Seed Street Church, and a couple of dozen other organizations that help people in need.

Money we raise goes to a variety of local organizations and agencies, some well-known, others doing fantastic things while working under the radar.

Music group raises money for charity.

The 2022 campaign’s fundraising goal is $1 million. The money we collect goes to a variety of organizations that help to feed and support people in need at Christmas, and through the coldest months of the year.

Price’s owner Wally Price says the large donation reflects the need: “There’s been a lot of people that are struggling for sure.”

Christmas packages for seniors are being assembled in a corner of the Soap for Hope Canada warehouse in Vic West.

Sarah Cotton-Elliott says she has never forgotten the community’s outpouring of support when her daughters were killed on Christmas Day five years ago.
